Anxiety can have terrible consequences on a person’s life. Struggling with the disorder can lead to diminished self-belief, weakened connections or substance abuse, among other repercussions.

Anxiety disorders are mental conditions that involve unreasonable worrying or pressure about particular conditions or traits of a person’s life. They find it hard to withstand daily activities.

One of the main symptoms of anxiety which psychologists call “Rumination”. It is a condition of over analyzing negative impressions or opinions. Rumination can cause mental fatigue, distract species from their labour and lead people to feel irrationally anxious about their statements, actions.

There are numerous forms of anxiety disorders and each ailment can affect people in numerous ways. The types include:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder
  • Social anxiety disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Agoraphobia or specific phobia disorder
  • Panic disorder

Somebody with a social anxiety disorder may resist public interaction due to stressing how their peers recognize them. Somebody with agoraphobia may avoid environments that they fear and miss out on chances. A person with a panic disorder may feel uneasy after encountering a panic attack in public.

Psychology furthermore focuses on Substance abuse which is another noticeable conclusion of living with severe anxiety. Feeling anxious or fearful can result in people relying on drugs or liquor to lessen their rumination or anxiety levels. The consequences of certain substances can release feel-good chemicals that neutralize anxiety and stress. However, always turning to liquor or drugs can lead to developing a habit, which can aggravate anxiety all-around or cause additional mental disorders.

If someone’s anxiety has negatively influenced their life, they should consider seeking medical treatment. Mental health professionals are available to provide therapy, help people supervise their stress and boost their outlook on life. Some people may need prescriptions along with therapy to reduce the effects of their anxiety.

If anxiety has led to substance abuse and addiction, there are rehabilitation centres that work in treating co-occurring disorders. It can encourage people to manage their anxiety while removing drugs or alcohol from their life.

I read this beautiful expression by Joshua which says:

“When your chest aches and your head is swimming with all of your faults and all of your flaws and you can’t seem to find your footing, remember that fear is a liar. That you have been here before, and you will breathe again. Remember that you are enough. Always enough.”

So Just remember, as rightly said by Matt Haig that Anxiety isn’t a weakness. Living with it, turning up and doing stuff with anxiety takes a strength most will ever know.

What matters is you don’t have to stop your feelings, you just have to learn not to let them overpower you. It will reduce slowly anxiety, works through depression, and builds healthy self-esteem.
